The SMART Recovery 4-Point Program helps people recover from all types of addiction and addictive behaviors, including: drug abuse, drug addiction, substance abuse, alcohol abuse, gambling addiction, cocaine addiction, prescription drug abuse, sexual addiction, and problem addiction to other substances and activities. SMART Recovery sponsors face-to-face meetings around the world, and daily online meetings. In addition, our online message board and 24/7 chat room are excellent forums to learn about SMART Recovery and obtain addiction recovery support.
It is the mission of the Mental Health & Addiction Services of Ottawa to provide individuals and families with assessments, counselling, and therapies to gain knowledge, understanding, and treatment for mental health and addiction issues. We endeavor to collaborate with all agencies, individuals, and service providers necessary to enable the best outcomes for our clients to reach their personal goals. The services at Mental Health & Addiction Services of Ottawa are provided by skilled clinicians who regularly participate in ongoing training.
The Royal’s Substance Use and Concurrent Disorders Program (SUCD) serves people living with complex substance (drug or alcohol) use, mental health, and physical health issues. This program offers a range of inpatient and outpatient services for people living with substance use and mental health concerns, which together are called concurrent disorders. The Substance Use and Concurrent Disorders Program provides specialized, evidence-based services to help our clients and their families optimize health and well-being. We will work with each client to understand their goals and determine the best treatment and supports to achieve those goals.
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength, and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization, or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and to help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.
Narcotics Anonymous (NA) is a nonprofit, international, community-based organization for recovering addicts. Narcotics Anonymous members learn from one another how to live drug-free and recover from the effects of addiction in their lives.
The Ottawa Addictions Access and Referral Services (OAARS) is the gateway to health services needed by persons aged 16 and over who are concerned about their alcohol or drug use and need help. This service is offered in French and English. OAARS acts as a navigator in the health care system to help its clients obtain the appropriate services. It conducts summary assessments and directs clients to services in the Ottawa area based on the needs of each person. OAARS also provides information and support services.
At Recovery Care, they provide treatment for persons struggling with addiction to opiates, which includes: Heroine and other morphine derivatives and opioids, including synthetic prescription painkillers like codeine, oxycodone, heroin, and fentanyl.

Amethyst Women’s Addiction Centre offers alternative addiction services to women. Amethyst is committed to working with diverse and marginalized groups of women. Our aim is to support women, individually and together, to take control of factors affecting our health and well-being.
Serenity Renewal for Families offers counselling for individuals, children, youth, couples and families. All of our counsellors deal with the impact of addictions, trauma and grief on families and on the individual addict. Appointments may be scheduled with one of our counsellors by calling during office hours.
The Community Addictions Peer Support Association (CAPSA) is a nonprofit organization of people affected by substance use disorder. We are located in Ottawa, Canada. They strive to empower individuals impacted by substance use disorder by providing opportunities to integrate into the broader community through peer support initiatives and community engagement projects. They support all pathways to increased health and endeavour to collaborate with other organizations that provide services for those in need of help.
